Lochore, Scotland

Yesterday I went to Fife (again) for a little Sunday drive. I had originally planned to go to the Crannog centre on Loch Tay but found out that it’s only open in the summer, damn it. So I decided to go to Lochore Meadows country park instead as it’s not too far of a drive from where I live and I’d never been before.

Lochore is a tiny little mining village in Scotland close by Loch Ore (hence the name!). We didn’t get to walk too far around the loch because my 7 year old cousin’s little legs couldn’t keep up and she was more concerned about getting back to the play park, ha ha. But what we did see was beautiful. The water reflecting the sky looked like a mirror and the place had a really peaceful vibe. The massive creepy swans there may have ruined the peacefulness slightly but it really is lovely. It was quite a busy place with people boating, camping, biking, barbecuing and dog walking. At the end of our little walk we found an old colliery steam train. I’m obsessed with the old times so I found this particularly fascinating. We managed to miss the rain showers and the sun even came out for a little while. Miracle. Here are some pictures from our day…
